Diver Name: Adrienne Workman Dive Date: Dive Location: Oahu, Hawaii Max Depth: 100 feet Total Bottom Time: 15 minutes Notes / Comments: Diving to see a Kamikaze WWII Airplane that was shot down near Pearl Harbor was surreal. Now that surfing has finally come of age, there is often nostalgia for "the good old days." It often goes something like, "Back in the day, we used to get great waves for months on end." If you believe all the stories so earnestly proffered in the … Read more on Delmarva Now

Yeah, sure jumping the gun here, probably — or jumping the shark already? — but I got to get this down on paper, er, electrons. I’m thinking if things go to plan, we should break ground on a eco-park and call it–guess what?–Tropic Times. Yeah, that’s the ticket!
Golden State 2.0! The Pacific Coast Club of Long Beach will be back! Remaking California cannot happen unless we dream big!
One time, Long Beach was a paradise. Then, a long succession of stupid city councillors undermined everything good about it. Except for approving the Grand Prix. And the Queen Mary. I’ll give them those. But can’t really forgive destroying the beach with a wave-killing breakwater, tearing up the passenger train tracks to make way for freeways, destroying the Pike beachfront amusement park, running out the book stores–including Acres of Books, selling the Spruce Goose, running out McDonald Douglas/Boeing, creating welfare/Section 8 ganglands where once middle class neighborhoods existed, approving the pitiful Mall downtown–then tearing it down 20 years later, and my personal worst–tearing down the magnificent Pacific Coast Club on Ocean Boulevard–a landmard giant Norman castle in the Hollywood golden years architectural tradition–only to replace it with a meaningless apartment building.
Well, we’re going to bring it back– visit www.pacificcoastclub.com
For you skeptics who say the fish was dead, I assure you it wasn’t dead. That said, I still risked my E-Flite Blade 400 for some entertainment for you (I used 3 batteries, hence the cut) as fun and challenging for me. I doubt most others would risk their 0 heli just to hover over the water, let alone dangle a line! This scenario shows it may be possible to use the Helicopter for fishing, however it would be expensive fishing. It is always terribly windy here, so on this calm day, those simple waves in the water was of no concern to a sunfish! It also helps to have lots of fish, like in our Sand Pit Pond where they bite on hooks with no bait! (actually I used fish eggs and the hook 24″ from the bobber. Hey, you never know, if you don’t try! ***Caution from past experience*** If the Tail rotor hits the water even slightly, it will immediately cause a crash. Big fish can drain batteries fast. It takes and hour to charge between flights of only 6 minutes, so this could be a long process to catch a fish. Sunfish are not big fighters. Fly easy and thanks for watching. I hope you found this entertaining. Be sure to subscribe for more unique stuff from Mr.Herbert’s Science Class. and yes, I’m going to try it again, so stay tuned.
